Overview of NLW’s Services

NLW has extensive experience in the areas of water resource management, development, and protection. This experience includes designing and implementing groundwater models, analyzing river-aquifer relationships, and characterizing aquifer systems to develop effective management strategies. Much of our work has supported water-right applications for municipal water purveyors.

We have also led many projects involving environmental monitoring and remedial investigation projects. In addition, we have worked under all major State and Federal regulations pertaining to groundwater investigations and cleanup, including the Minimum Functional Standards (MFS) for Landfills (WAC 173-304), MTCA, and RCRA.

Software Capabilities

NLW uses many state-of-the-art software applications to model groundwater and contaminant flow and to analyze local or regional hydrogeologic data. These applications provide greater accuracy, often reducing overall project costs.

Our Clients

NLW works with many types of clients—municipal water purveyors, state and county agencies, tribes, industrial facilities, land developers, law firms, community groups, and others. Our clients’ involvement varies according to their preferences and project requirements. In some instances, clients participate as project leaders or collaborators; in others, we operate independently, consulting with the client occasionally to report on project milestones and redefine goals, if necessary. In all cases, NLW strives for good working relationships and understands that clear communication is essential to successful project outcomes. We recognize that clients bring unique skills and talents to developing a project scope.
